Chelsea’s been having a tough time with injuries this season, and it got worse on Thursday. Enzo Fernandez, one of their players from Argentina, won’t be able to play for the rest of the season. He had to have surgery to fix a problem with his groin called an inguinal hernia. That means he’ll miss the last six games of the season.

The good news is that getting the surgery now gives him a chance to recover in time for the Copa America, a big tournament happening in June. Chelsea’s coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has already been dealing with lots of injuries this season, making things hard for him in his first year in charge.

But there’s a bit of relief with Cole Palmer returning to training before their match against Aston Villa. Also, Reece James and Christopher Nkunku are trying to get back on the field before the season ends.

The club released a statement saying Enzo had a successful surgery and will now start working with the medical team to get better. He’ll be doing his recovery at Cobham, Chelsea’s training ground.
