Chelsea denied late winner by VAR after second-half fightback

Chelsea played against Aston Villa and the game ended in a tie, 2-2. The match happened on Saturday night. Chelsea didn’t win because the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) said no to their late goal.

In the second half of the game, Chelsea played better. Conor Gallagher scored a fantastic goal, making the score even. Before that, Aston Villa was winning by two goals.

Aston Villa is in fourth place with 67 points. They’re seven points ahead of Tottenham. Chelsea is in ninth place with 48 points.

Chelsea didn’t start well. In the beginning, one of their players, Marc Cucurella, accidentally kicked the ball into their own net. Then, Aston Villa scored another goal before the first half ended.

During the game, Aston Villa had to change their goalkeeper because of an injury. Robin Olsen came in to replace Emi Martinez, but he couldn’t stop Noni Madueke from scoring for Chelsea.

Finally, Conor Gallagher scored again, making the game tie. But Chelsea’s happiness didn’t last long because the referee said their last goal wasn’t allowed after checking with VAR.
