Chelsea’s player ratings: Super-subs, James and Sterling’s Heroic Performances

The Blues had a great game against Nottingham Forest, and it was mostly thanks to their substitutes.
Chelsea played a really exciting match against Nottingham Forest. They’re trying hard to secure a spot in Europe.
Mykhailo Mudryk scored first with a fantastic goal early in the game. He got a perfect pass from Cole Palmer and made the most of it. Then, just eight minutes later, Willy Boly scored for Nottingham Forest from a free-kick.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, who used to play for Chelsea, scored an amazing goal with a beautiful curl and finish. But then, Raheem Sterling, who came in as a substitute, scored an equally impressive goal to level the game.
Finally, Reece James, who started the game on the bench, came in and made a big impact. He set up Nicolas Jackson to score the winning goal just a few minutes later.
Player Ratings: Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
Djordje Petrovic – 6
Petrovic made a crucial save right at the start, denying Chris Wood from scoring when it was just him and the goalie.
Trevoh Chalobah – 6
Chalobah had an interesting battle with his pal Hudson-Odoi. Sadly, the Forest winger came out on top this time.
Thiago Silva – 5
Silva, who’s 39 years old, had a tough time dealing with Forest’s aerial attacks.
Benoit Badiashile – 4
Badiashile gave away a silly free-kick that led to Forest’s first goal. He got subbed off before an hour was up.
Marc Cucurella – 6
Cucurella didn’t quite play as amazingly as he has been lately.
Moises Caicedo – 8
Caicedo did a lot of work breaking up Forest’s plays on a really busy night.
Conor Gallagher – 5
Gallagher got lucky not to get sent off for fouling his old teammate Hudson-Odoi when he was the last man.
Noni Madueke – 5
Madueke, who’s been playing great, didn’t win his battle against former Blues defender Ola Aina. He got subbed out before 30 minutes were up.
Cole Palmer – 8
Palmer, Chelsea’s star player, made a perfect pass that set up Mudryk’s goal. He did it again later for Jackson.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 7
Mudryk, who’s from Ukraine, hasn’t been in top form lately, but he scored a great goal with his right foot. He really needed that boost.
Nicolas Jackson – 7
Jackson missed a chance to score in the first half but redeemed himself with a solid header for the winning goal.
Substitutes
Malo Gusto – 7
Gusto, who came on as a sub, immediately made an impact with his runs down the right side, keeping Forest’s defense busy.
Christopher Nkunku – 6
Nkunku, a French player, linked up well with his teammates after coming on.
Reece James – 9
James, the team captain, played flawlessly. He completely changed the game, setting up Sterling’s goal and assisting Jackson’s winner.
Raheem Sterling – 9
Sterling, who came off the bench, scored a fantastic goal shortly after entering the game, curling the ball past the Forest goalie.
