Nicolas Jackson, the forward for Chelsea, had to leave the field during a World Cup qualifier game against DR Congo last week because of an injury.

While playing for Senegal, Jackson hurt his ankle seriously. He had to stop playing in the last minutes of the match against DR Congo, which ended in a 1-1 tie in Diamniadio.

After that, the 22-year-old couldn’t play in the game on Sunday, where Senegal won 1-0 against Mauritania. The tests done on his ankle showed he has a bad sprain.

Chelsea’s team is now waiting to see how bad Jackson’s injury is. This could be a problem for Enzo Maresca, the new coach, as he starts his job.

Jackson did really well in his first season at Chelsea, scoring 14 goals in the Premier League. If he can’t play in the pre-season games, it would be unfortunate.

The team is getting ready to start their pre-season training in early July. They will travel to the United States and play their first game there against Wrexham on July 24.

The Football Association of Senegal shared that Jackson hurt his right ankle during the match with DR Congo on June 6, 2024. An MRI scan on June 7 showed that he has a serious ankle sprain.

This injury to Jackson’s ankle is one of many injuries Chelsea players have had. During the 2023-24 season, Chelsea players had 43 different injuries. Only Manchester United had more injuries, with 45.
