This summer, both Arsenal and Chelsea are eager to sign new star attackers.

Nico Williams, a player both teams are keen on, has decided to wait until after the European Championship this summer to make a decision about his future.

The young winger has caught the attention of these London clubs thanks to his outstanding play for Athletic Club this season.

The 21-year-old, who has also been linked to Liverpool and Aston Villa, could be transferred for about £43 million, which is the amount of his release clause from the contract he signed last December at San Mames.

However, Williams is putting off any decisions about his future until he’s done playing for Spain in Euro 2024.

“I’m really content at Athletic,” he shared with Cope, a Spanish radio station. “This club means everything to me; they’ve supported me all the way. I love living in Bilbao, and that’s all I want to say.

“My mind is made up. Athletic is where I belong, and I’m happy here. Right now, my focus is on the Euros. It’s a big deal, and if you’re not fully committed, it’ll slip away. As for what happens next, I’m not sure.

“I’ve told my agents I don’t want to hear anything until the Euros are over. I’m all in, and my goal is to win the Euros.”

Barcelona has also noticed Williams’ talent, and they once hoped to get him for free this summer.

He was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, but he chose to stay loyal to Athletic and signed a new contract before the year ended.

“I felt at home in Bilbao,” Williams continued. “I knew I wanted to stay, and we both agreed to continue together. I was very pleased, so I renewed my contract, and that’s about it.
