Chelsea Star Conor Gallagher: Pochettino’s Role in My Form and Euro 2024 Goals

Mauricio Pochettino, the former Chelsea manager, has left the club. This happened around the same time the team decided to sell midfielder Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher has praised Pochettino for making him a better player and helping him get noticed by England’s national team. Even though Pochettino is gone, Gallagher hasn’t decided if he’ll stay with Chelsea.

He might play in England’s first match at Euro 2024 against Serbia because he did well last season when Pochettino was in charge and even made him the team captain sometimes.

After the season ended, Chelsea hired Enzo Maresca from Leicester to replace Pochettino. People think Pochettino didn’t want to sell Gallagher, who only has one year left on his contract, and that caused problems with the club.

Gallagher feels he’s more important to England now than he was during the World Cup in Qatar, where he didn’t play. He credits Pochettino’s trust for his growth.

At a press conference, Gallagher said, “Pochettino believed in me and gave me a chance at Chelsea. That’s made me ready to do more for England in this tournament.”

He’s sad Pochettino and his staff left but is excited to work with the new manager, Maresca.

Gallagher thinks this Euro tournament feels different from the World Cup because he’s a better player now and hopes to help England more on the field.

Chelsea had a tough time with Pochettino, losing 11 games in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup Final. But they finished strong with five wins in a row, beating Newcastle and Manchester United to sixth place.

Gallagher enjoyed playing regularly and wants to keep helping Chelsea and England.

He might get offers from Tottenham and Aston Villa soon because Chelsea needs to sell players by June 30 to meet financial rules.

Gallagher didn’t say if he’ll stay with Chelsea next season, but he’s focused on playing for England right now.

He’s competing with players like Trent Alexander-Arnold for a spot in the midfield and is happy with his recent performance in a friendly match against Bosnia & Herzegovina, which the coach also praised.

That’s the gist of it! Gallagher is looking forward to the Euros and is focused on his game, despite the changes at Chelsea.
