Pedro Lima, a 17-year-old defender, was all set to join Strasbourg, a team managed by Patrick Vieira and part of Chelsea’s BlueCo group. He’s been talking with his current team, Sport Recife, for a while.

But in a surprising turn, Wolves have stepped in and made a last-minute deal with the young Brazilian star.

Sport Recife shared on Monday that they’ve agreed to let Pedro Lima go to Wolverhampton Wanderers in England. They’re just waiting for him to pass his medical check-up there.

Yuri Romao, the president, will give us all the details once everything’s finalized.

David Ornstein from The Athletic says Lima’s got a five-year deal with Wolves, with an option to add another year.

He’ll probably start his medical on July 1 and then officially join Wolves.

Lima’s move is big news for Wolves, especially after they just got Rodrigo Gomes, another promising player, from Braga for £12.7million.

Tommy Doyle is also joining Wolves from Manchester City next month after a successful loan period.

Chelsea isn’t left out, though. They’re about to welcome Estevao Willian, an exciting young winger from Palmeiras known as ‘Little Messi’. He’s just done his medical checks in Brazil and is set to join Chelsea for an initial £29.5m, which might go up to over £51m.

Chelsea has been busy signing young talents like Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, Angelo Gabriel, and Kendry Paez from South America.

Their first big signing under Enzo Maresca is Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, who’s coming in as Thiago Silva’s replacement. They’re also eyeing Jhon Duran, a striker from Aston Villa.
