Chelsea Demands £25m for Trevoh Chalobah Amid Fulham’s Renewed Interest

Fulham Football Club is back in the transfer market, eyeing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. The 24-year-old centre-back is among several players who could depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chalobah, an academy graduate, still has four years left on his contract. However, Chelsea’s financial considerations mean that any potential sale would count as pure profit. The club aims to adhere to Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Last season, Chalobah faced a setback due to a hamstring injury that kept him out for the first six months. But he made an impressive comeback towards the end of the campaign. Fulham, who had considered signing him last year, has now renewed its interest.

While Chalobah would prefer to stay at Chelsea, the financial situation might force a move. Interestingly, this potential transfer would mirror the reverse path taken by Tosin Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea from Fulham as a free agent.

With Adarabioyo gone and Tim Ream likely heading to MLS side Charlotte FC, Fulham faces a shortage of senior central defenders. Currently, they have only Calvin Bassey and Issa Diop in that position.

Chalobah, valued at £25 million by Chelsea, is currently on holiday before the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. Manchester United is also tracking his progress, while Tottenham is reportedly interested. Chalobah’s desire for regular game-time could be a deciding factor.

Additionally, Fulham is exploring other options, including England Under-21 centre-back Teden Mengi from relegated Luton, as they seek solutions in central defense.
