The Premier League Player of the Month honors for November and December bagged by Martin Odegaard

WHAT TRANSPIRED?: The Arsenal captain was in excellent form before and during the World Cup break. He scored twice against Wolves before the tournament, and when domestic play resumed, he assisted Eddie Nketiah’s goal against West Ham United before assisting two more goals and scoring himself against Brighton.

He outperformed every Premier League player during that four-game span with his six goal involvements, beating out Casemiro and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Erling Haaland of Norway, Ben Mee of Brentford, Kieran Tripper of Newcastle United, and Joao Palhinha of Fulham.

THE BROAD VIEW: After the votes of the general public and a group of football experts were added together, Martin won.

It feels amazing, he remarked of receiving his award, which was given to him in front of one of the brand-new Emirates Stadium artworks. he said: “It feels great. I’ve said a lot of times this team has a lot of young, hungry players and we play so well with each other, so it’s just a pleasure to be here and to be part of what we’re doing now.

“It’s a pleasure to play with them and show my qualities so I’m very happy to get this award.”

He is the first winner since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was named the club’s outstanding performer in September 2019 and the 21st player overall to win the monthly award throughout their stay with the team.
