Bayern Munich appears to have secured a major summer signing, with Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise reportedly on his way to the German club. Meanwhile, Chelsea has conceded defeat in their pursuit of the talented winger.

Initially, Chelsea was keen on convincing the 22-year-old Olise to remain in the Premier League. They even obtained permission from Palace to engage in talks with the player’s representatives. However, the Blues ultimately decided not to pursue a deal due to financial constraints.

Now, Bayern Munich is poised to acquire Olise, who is considered one of Europe’s most promising wingers. This marks the second time Chelsea has missed out on signing him, following a failed attempt last summer.

Olise’s current contract with Palace includes a release clause, although its intricate structure could see it exceed £60 million. The player reportedly prioritized a move to a Champions League club, which Bayern, now under the management of Vincent Kompany, can offer. Consequently, Chelsea and Manchester United find themselves in a less favorable position.

As Olise prepares for international duty with France, he has been named in the squad for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
