Ipswich Town are closing in on a significant £20 million deal for Chelsea forward Omari Hutchinson, who played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League last season.

Despite strong interest from Stuttgart, Ipswich Town is leading the race to sign the talented Jamaica international. Hutchinson spent last season on loan with Ipswich, where he scored 11 goals, including a crucial one in the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield that secured their Premier League promotion.

The 20-year-old forward has expressed a desire to continue working under Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, whose guidance was instrumental in Hutchinson’s successful loan spell. This relationship has been a major factor in Hutchinson’s decision to make the move permanent.

Chelsea recently extended Hutchinson’s contract until 2026, allowing them to command a substantial fee for his transfer. Hutchinson, who spent four years in Chelsea’s academy, also developed his skills at Charlton and Arsenal before returning to Chelsea in 2022.

With new head coach Enzo Maresca looking to reshape the Chelsea squad, Hutchinson has been made available for a transfer. Ipswich Town are now poised to finalize the deal, bringing the promising forward back to Portman Road as they prepare for their first Premier League campaign in 22 years.
