Chelsea is closing in on a £30 million deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City. The midfielder is expected to undergo a medical examination on Sunday and will likely sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Dewsbury-Hall will reunite with former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, who is bringing him to Chelsea. In a separate deal, teenage Chelsea midfielder Michael Golding will reportedly move to Leicester.

Chelsea has swooped in to secure Dewsbury-Hall, who had already completed a medical at Brighton earlier this week after the Seagulls agreed on a fee with Leicester.

Chelsea sees the left-footed Dewsbury-Hall as a perfect fit for Maresca’s system. Last season, Dewsbury-Hall started 41 games under Maresca in the Championship, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists, helping secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Leicester is under pressure to raise around £40 million before the June 30 deadline to comply with Premier League spending rules. June 30 marks the end of the financial year, so deals must be finalized by Sunday to be registered in the 2023-24 accounts.

In addition to Dewsbury-Hall, Chelsea has also agreed in principle to sign forward Marc Guiu from Barcelona and is closing in on signing defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.
