Joao Felix Set for a Second Debut at Chelsea, but Fans Will Have to Wait

Joao Felix, the talented Portuguese forward, has officially returned to Chelsea as the club’s 10th signing of the summer. However, fans will need to be patient before they see him on the pitch.

Felix, who joined Chelsea for £44.5 million, is no stranger to Stamford Bridge. He previously spent six months on loan at the club, a period that started with a red card in his first match and ended with four goals in 20 appearances.

While Felix is eager to make his second debut for the Blues, Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that the 24-year-old will not be part of the squad for Thursday’s Europa Conference League play-off first-leg against Servette. The squad list for this match has already been submitted to UEFA, and Felix isn’t on it.

Maresca explained, “Joao can play as an attacking midfielder, No. 9, or even as a winger. We have many games coming up.” This suggests that Felix will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his versatility in the team.

The most likely scenario for Felix’s second debut is during Chelsea’s Premier League match against Wolves on Sunday.

In addition to Felix, other key players like Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, and Ben Chilwell will also miss the Servette game. However, Tosin Adarabioyo has been included in the squad after what the BBC described as an “admin error” that initially left him out.

So, while Chelsea fans are excited about Felix’s return, they’ll have to wait just a bit longer to see him back in action.
