Chelsea legend John Terry slam Arsenal with response to Piers Morgan dig

John Terry has frequently played golf since his retirement.

Piers Morgan poked fun at Chelsea on Twitter, but John Terry didn’t like it and responded with a well-timed jab of his own at Arsenal.

The Gunners are enjoying themselves at the top of the Premier League, five points ahead of their closest competitors Manchester City and far ahead of ailing Chelsea.

The Blues are currently in 10th position, 21 points behind Arsenal, and are already 10 points outside of the Champions League spots. They will have a difficult battle to even make it back into the top four.

In an effort to spend their way out of the slump, the owners of Stamford Bridge brought in eight players in January, including Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a British record £106.8 million.

Todd Boehly and his group have adopted a risky strategy, and Morgan was eager to make fun of Arsenal’s London rivals for their standing in the league despite the significant investment.

The TV presenter wrote on Twitter: ‘Reminder to Chelsea fans: we’re top of the League, you’re 10th, and we’re 21pts ahead of you with a game in hand. Spend all the money you want, but a telescope to view Arsenal is what you REALLY need, so do that instead.

It’s silly nonsense, and Terry was willing to participate on an equal footing, implying that he had just won more golfing awards than Arsenal had.

The Chelsea hero replied: ‘@piersmorgan you have gone missing for 20 years! And you still have a long way to go.

‘I have won more trophies since I retired playing golf than Arsenal have.’

Chelsea are back in action on Friday night at home against Fulham in the Premier League, with Arsenal going to Everton on Saturday lunchtime.
