On the eve of the World Cup, Karim Benzema reportedly departed a French training session with an injury, putting his participation in the competition in doubt.

According to reports, Benzema ended his workout early on Friday, making his World Cup participation doubtful. His first training session with the team since getting to Qatar has been cut short, and reports from RMC Sport and L’Equipe raise doubts over whether he will be able to participate in the tournament.

Although the extent of the damage is not yet known, L’Equipe suggests that the attacker will unquestionably miss his country’s opening match against Australia on November 22. Up to their opening match on Tuesday, Didier Deschamps has the option to substitute Benzema, but it is anticipated that this will only be a last resort.

Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, and Christopher Nkunku are already out of the World Cup for France due to injury, so this would just make their team more vulnerable. It would be a major letdown for him, his country, and all football fans if he missed the entire tournament.
