Ederson demonstrates fake crying in front of Arsenal fans in their defeat to Manchester City

During Wednesday night’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson made fun of the Arsenal supporters there.

With two goals from Kevin De Bruyne and one each from John Stones and Erling Haaland, City easily defeated their title rivals.

The result moves Pep Guardiola’s team two points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, albeit the defending champions still have two games left to play. Arsenal have not lost in their past 17 games overall.

Arsenal, meanwhile, seem content to settle for second place, which would be their best Premier League finish since 2016.

But when the game came to a close on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson used the occasion to make fun of Arsenal fans by turning to the opposing section and acting upset.

Guardiola declared after City’s victory that his team is now in charge of the Premier League title battle for the first time.

‘It’s in our hands. I’d love to have six points from these two games [in hand], but we have to win them,’ said Guardiola.

‘Until today, I prefer the position in the Premier League from Arsenal but now it is in our destiny.

‘I have the feeling the next three games will dictate a lot. We have Fulham, and what Marco Silva has done this season coming from the Championship has been amazing.

‘After, we have two games at home. I don’t want to anticipate because it’s not healthy but at home this season we feel comfortable with the crowd. I think the next three games will be really important but of course the most important thing is our destiny is in our hands.’
