After Arsenal’s Wednesday night 4-1 loss to Manchester City, Ben White and Phil Foden got into a fight.

At the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola’s team won easily thanks to a brace from Kevin De Bruyne and scores from John Stones and Erling Haaland.

With two games remaining, the defending Premier League champions still lead Mikel Arteta’s team by two points after to City’s victory over Arsenal.

Jack Grealish and Thomas Partey’s altercation in the second half of the game caused tension to rise throughout play.

But following the game, White and Foden had to be separated from one another because of their argument.

Foden was initially approached by White, who grabbed him by the collar. The Arsenal defender was confronted by Foden, who responded aggressively by snatching his shirt and pushing him away.

Then, Kyle Walker, Haaland, Rodri, and Bernardo Silva intervened to separate the two players and calm the situation.

After the game, Arteta acknowledged Manchester City’s victory over Arsenal was well-deserved.

‘I think it’s clear the better team won the game,’ said the Arsenal manager.

‘They were probably at their best, especially in the first half and we weren’t at our level.

‘The gap then becomes too big. In the first 30 minutes in terms of the basics you have to do against an exceptional team in terms of competing, in terms of winning duels, in terms of understanding what the game required we didn’t do it. We got punished and we could have been punished even more.’
