Arsenal loan star’s brother argued with the manager on pitch after relegation

On loan at Wigan Athletic, Miguel Azeez has been unable to make an impression.

Following the club’s relegation from the Championship, Wigan Athletic manager Shaun Maloney got into a heated argument with the brother of on-loan midfielder Miguel Azeez from Arsenal.

Reading and Wigan drew 1-1 on Saturday at the Madejski Stadium, ensuring Wigan’s relegation to League One for the upcoming campaign.

Azeez, on the other hand, began the season on loan at Ibiza in the Segunda Division of Spain and returned there in the January transfer window to join Wigan.

Azeez’s loan in the Championship has been a flop, though, as he has only played once for Wigan.

In the 1-1 draw with Wigan, Azzez’s brother Femi, a current Reading player, entered the game as a replacement.

After the game, Femi Azeez, according to Wigan Today, used the chance to chastise Maloney for giving his brother insufficient playing time.

Miguel Azeez participated in Wigan’s 3-2 loss at Millwall on Friday while representing the Under-21s rather than being a member of the matchday squad for the game.

He hasn’t exactly had an easy time there, Femi Azeez said of his brother’s predicament at Wigan before the game.

‘He started with Kolo Toure and the new manager came in and hasn’t really trusted him, which has been disappointing.

‘Hopefully he plays, but if it doesn’t happen then it is what it is. We’ve got to focus on us and getting the three points.’
