Liverpool star, Trent Alexander-Arnold only sees the title race going one dimension

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a standout for Liverpool, believes he would be “surprised” if Manchester City dropped another point in their Premier League title match against Arsenal.

Man City has won nine straight league games to overtake longtime leaders Arsenal as they pursue their sixth championship since 2018.

In their pursuit of an unprecedented triple, Pep Guardiola’s team leads the Gunners by one point, has a game in hand, and has a better goal difference.

Alexander-Arnold feels for Arsenal, who has been up against a “juggernaut” this season, and predicts that Manchester City will win every game they have left in the league.

For the first time since 2004, Arsenal had a chance to win the Premier League, but they faltered in April and lost their lead over Man City.

‘The league [title race] is obvious now,’ Liverpool and England star Alexander-Arnold told Red Bull.

‘I’ve said it for a while, if Man City are anywhere close, if they smell blood at Christmas, New Year – it’s game over really.

Manchester City appears poised to beat Arsenal in the title race and win the Premier League.

‘There’s no stopping them once they start winning and now at this point, I’d be surprised if they drew a game.

‘I think it’s just got to be their mindset, I think it’s just the messaging because they don’t even go behind in games at this point.

‘There’s no messing around, there’s no scares, there’s no ups and downs in games. With Arsenal, it was exciting because they were dropping points, but in an exciting way.

‘Whereas Man City, I don’t even know how to describe it, they’re like a juggernaut.’

Manchester City, who are now atop the Premier League, will play again on Saturday against Sam Allardyce’s Leeds United, while Arsenal will play Newcastle United later in the weekend.

With four games left, Jurgen Klopp’s team is currently in fifth place, some distance behind their championship rivals, but Alexander-Arnold will still be hoping to assist the Reds reach the Champions League for the next season.
