Chelsea advanced to the 4th round of the Emirates FA Cup after defeating Preston North End at Stamford Bridge.

The home team scored four goals in the second half through Broja, Silva, Madueke and Enzo, turning a tense start into a comfortable 4-0 win.

Sportrivia247 gives the following player ratings for Saturday’s game.

Petrovic: 7/10- Had a very quiet day, nothing to worry about.

Gilchrist: 7.5/10– The best player in the first half, but sadly he only lasted an hour. He showed a lot of effort and looked at home in this Chelsea side.

Disasi: 7/10- A solid but unspectacular performance. Nothing to praise or criticize. He could have been more dominant in his duels.

Colwill: 7/10- Similar to Disasi, but he was stronger in the air and won 8 out of 9 aerial duels. This will impress Pochettino, who said Chelsea are weak in the air.

Gusto: 8.5/10- My MOTM for the whole game, he played out of position but he was the only one who tried to make a difference before the first goal. He was rewarded with an assist.

Caicedo- 7/10– A steady but not outstanding performance. He did not do anything wrong. He played it safe and avoided any bookings or suspensions.

Enzo: 8/10- The main creative force of the team. He had a lot of work to do because of Pochettino’s tactics. He had 104 touches, the most on the pitch, according to SofaScore.

Sterling: 8/10- He improved his performance and scored a brilliant free kick. Sterling can be frustrating to watch sometimes, but he also delivers. He had a goal and an assist, which is more than enough.

Palmer: 7.5/10- Another good performance from Palmer and he got an assist. He missed a big chance in the first half, maybe he was too confident. He delivered a great corner for Silva’s goal and he could have used a rest, but he had to play because of the lack of depth.

Mudryk: 6.5/10– He was hardly involved in the game, mainly because of Chelsea’s first half approach. He created a big chance in the hour he played.

Broja: 6.5/10- A rusty performance, but that’s understandable. He scored a nice header from a perfect Gusto cross, but he needs more time and development. He seems to have lost his form after the injury and he might need another loan move. He will be under pressure with Jackson away at the Africa Cup of Nations and Nkunku’s fitness uncertain.

Subs: Thiago Silva, Gallagher, Golding, Madueke, Washington.

Chelsea’s next game is a visit to the North-East to face Championship side Middlesbrough, who are only one point above Preston in the table.
