Willian, the former Chelsea star, had a memorable day at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, as he faced his old club for the third time since joining Fulham in 2022.

The Brazilian winger, who spent seven successful seasons with the Blues, received a warm welcome from the home fans, who chanted his name and applauded his every touch.

Although Fulham lost the match 1-0, Willian was grateful for the support he received from both sets of fans. He posted a message on Instagram after the game, saying:

“Today wasn’t the result we wanted, but it was a very special day for me, to be back at the Bridge a place of great memories. Thanks for the support Fulham fans and I also want to thank Chelsea fans you were always amazing with me.”

Willian, who won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and a Europa League with Chelsea, left the club in 2020 after his contract expired. He joined Arsenal on a free transfer, but his spell with the Gunners was disappointing and he moved to Fulham after one season.

Willian has been a key player for Fulham, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 44 appearances so far. He could face Chelsea again this season, as both teams are in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and will try to overcome one-goal deficits in the second legs.
