Fulham Hoping to Secure Loan Move for Chelsea’s Out-of-Favour Defender

Fulham are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah before the January transfer window shuts. The Cottagers are looking to bolster their defence as they aim to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Fulham have made an enquiry for the 24-year-old, who has not featured for Chelsea this season due to an injury. The London club are willing to let him go on a six-month loan with an option to buy.

Chalobah, who joined Chelsea at the age of eight, has spent the last three seasons on loan at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient. He was part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2021, but has fallen down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.

Fulham, who are currently 13th in the table, have conceded 32 goals in 21 games, the fourth-highest in the league. They are hoping that Chalobah can provide some stability and experience to their backline, as they face a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks.
