The reported reasoning behind Broja’s valuation

A lot of attention was given to the potential departures from Stamford Bridge in yesterday’s news.

Trevoh Chalobah & Armando Broja were among the players who were in the spotlight.

One thing that raised some eyebrows was the high asking price for Broja.

The striker from Albania has only netted one goal in the league for the blues this season, but his worth seems to match that of a prolific scorer.

Chelsea have an explanation for why they value Broja so highly. The Telegraph reported that the club put him in the £50m-£70m range.

They based their valuation on the £100m that Brighton demanded for Evan Ferguson and the amount that Manchester United paid for Rasmus Hoijlund. The Telegraph claimed that those transfers influenced Chelsea’s decision.

Does this make sense, considering that the club has never regarded him as their main striker?
