How Frank Lampard’s eye for talent could make him a great director of football
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres has attracted the attention of Chelsea, who have seen their bid turned down by the Portuguese club, according to a local source.
The Swedish international, who used to play for Coventry, is valued at over €100m in 2024. But he could have been snapped up for a fraction of that price two years ago.
That’s when Frank Lampard and Everton were reportedly interested in signing Gyökeres.
Lampard has shown his talent ID skills before, by targeting Rice, Mudryk, Bellingham and Haaland before they became stars. Could the Chelsea legend be the perfect fit for a director of football role?
