The release clause of Benjamin Šeško, the 20-year-old Slovenian striker who plays for RB Leipzig, was disclosed today.

Šeško has been on Chelsea’s radar since 2022, as per reports.

His agent was seen with Chelsea’s owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, in October 2022, before he joined Leipzig from Salzburg.

Philipp Hinze from X reported that Šeško’s contract has an exit clause that fits the London club’s budget.

Philipp said: “Sky has learned exclusively that Benjamin Sesko’s contract has a buy-out clause…”

He added that this clause, which is valid, can only be activated from the summer window.

He said: “Sesko joined Leipzig in the summer for €24 million + €6 million. The clause was a required concession.”

Many clubs, including Chelsea, would be interested in paying €50 million, or £43 million, for Šeško.
