The manager of the Eagles is feeling a lot of pressure before Chelsea comes to play at Selhurst Park.

Mauricio Pochettino thinks Roy Hodgson is an amazing coach and believes he will do well at Crystal Palace, despite some criticism.

Pochettino’s Chelsea team will play against Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night. Palace hasn’t been doing great lately, winning only twice in their last 14 matches under Hodgson.

Many Palace fans were unhappy when 76-year-old Hodgson continued as manager this season. Some want chairman Steve Parish to replace him because of the team’s tough time.

Pochettino said, “I have nothing bad to say about Roy. He’s my friend, and I admire him a lot. He’s a great coach, and I believe he’s doing a good job. Losing a few games can bring pressure, but I’m sure he’ll succeed with Palace.”

Pochettino and Hodgson have known each other for a while. When Pochettino was at Southampton, Hodgson was the coach of the national team and often came to watch games and spend time with them.

Hodgson is the oldest manager in the Premier League at 76. When asked if he’d still be coaching at that age, Pochettino, who is 51, joked, “I’ll be happy just to be alive! If I have the energy, who knows, maybe I’ll still be coaching.”
