Chelsea injury blow as Benoit Badiashile ruled out for a month and set to miss Carabao Cup Final

Badiashile got hurt during the match against Aston Villa and the doctors say he’ll need some time to recover.

This is bad news for Chelsea because Benoit Badiashile will be out for about a month. He hurt his groin during the game against Aston Villa.

He had to leave the field towards the end of last week’s 3-1 FA Cup win at Villa Park. The scans show he’ll have to stay out of the game for a while.

He won’t be playing in the match against Crystal Palace on Monday, and he’ll also miss the Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool on February 25.

This is a big problem for Chelsea and their coach Mauricio Pochettino. They want to keep winning like they did against Villa, but losing Badiashile makes it harder.

Badiashile was playing alongside Axel Disasi in the centre of defence against Villa. Chelsea looked better defensively with him there instead of Thiago Silva, who was on the bench.

Thiago Silva, who is 39 years old, hasn’t been playing as well lately. Pochettino hoped Badiashile and Disasi could become a strong defensive duo.

Even though they’re missing Badiashile, Chelsea will have Levi Colwill back when they play against Palace.

Colwill had a hamstring injury and missed four games. Now he’s ready to play again, and he’s another left-footed defender who could play alongside Disasi.

Trevoh Chalobah, who hasn’t played this season because of a thigh injury, is also close to coming back. He’s been training and should be back soon.
