Axel Disasi is stepping up as Chelsea’s new leader in defense.

When Thiago Silva was out, the 25-year-old defender showed his skills in a big way during Chelsea’s match against Manchester City. He made an impressive 16 blocks, the most by any Chelsea player in a Premier League game in eight years.

Even though Manchester City put a lot of pressure on Chelsea, Disasi managed to win all four of his aerial battles and made three important blocks. Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher even compared his performance to that of John Terry, a legendary Chelsea defender.

Disasi has been a key player for Chelsea this season, playing more minutes than anyone else on the team. His performance has been solid throughout, especially in the lead-up to the Carabao Cup Final.

In recent games, Disasi has formed a strong partnership with Benoit Badiashile, another Chelsea defender. Their solid defense helped Chelsea secure important wins against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

With Disasi in the lineup, Chelsea has found a better balance in midfield and a quicker defense, allowing them to play higher up the pitch. While he may not have the same experience as Thiago Silva, Disasi’s personality and style of play have won him praise from both fans and teammates.

Disasi’s energy and passion, reminiscent of former Chelsea player Antonio Rudiger, have been a boost for the team. His performances have given confidence to the entire squad ahead of important matches, including the upcoming final against Liverpool.

Despite joining Chelsea last summer as a result of a teammate’s injury, Disasi has become an integral part of the team’s success and will play a crucial role in their upcoming challenges.
