Mauricio Pochettino feels sure that the Chelsea owners will give him the chance he needs to improve the team. He says he doesn’t have to make it to Europe to keep his job.

Pochettino talked about the tough time Chelsea had after losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool. Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville called them “£1billion bottle jobs.” Pochettino also faced questions about his future after missing out on a chance to win a trophy and qualify for Europe.

Chelsea is currently in 11th place in the Premier League. They’re struggling to qualify for the Europa League or Conference League.

Pochettino was asked if he’s confident the owners will support him. He replied, “Yes, I am confident until they say otherwise. But for now, I don’t think they’ll change their minds.”

Winning the FA Cup would be a bright spot in Chelsea’s difficult season and would secure their spot in the Europa League. However, Pochettino denies being told his job depends on European qualification.

He said, “No one from the management has told me that. It’s not in my memory.”

Pochettino still aims to win trophies with Chelsea, but he acknowledges the current challenges. He’s focused on trying to secure European football for next season.

He explained that he has a good relationship with the owners and the sporting directors, who understand his perspective. He expressed his disappointment after losing the cup final but felt supported by the owners.

Pochettino understands the challenge of winning over fans and critics. He believes in the quality of his players but admits they need time to improve.

He said, “We’re building something special, but it takes time. Whether I stay or not depends on my performance, but we’re making progress. We just need more time to see the results.”

Pochettino remains optimistic about Chelsea’s future and believes the players are committed to improving.
