The Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, talked to reporters before Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League match against Brentford, their local rivals. With Chelsea facing challenges due to recent results and injuries, today’s press conference gave some useful insights.

Pochettino talked about Wesley Fofana’s situation. Fofana, a French player, hasn’t played for Chelsea since the last game of the 22/23 season. Pochettino said it’s unlikely we’ll see Fofana play for the rest of this season but added that you never know what might happen.

If Fofana doesn’t play for the rest of the season, he’ll finish the 23/24 season without any appearances, having played only 15 league games last season.

On a more positive note, Marc Cucurella and Thiago Silva are close to returning after being taken off the official injury list. Pochettino also confirmed that Nkunku’s injury is related to his hamstring.
