Chelsea managed to avoid their second loss of the season against Brentford thanks to Axel Disasi’s late header, securing a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Trying to beat Brentford for the first time since 2021, Chelsea started well. They were ahead at halftime after Nicolas Jackson scored with a header from a great cross by Malo Gusto.

But Brentford improved a lot in the second half. They turned the game around, with Mads Roerslev equalizing shortly after halftime, and Yoane Wissa scoring a fantastic goal to put Brentford in front.

The mood among Chelsea fans got worse as they criticized Mauricio Pochettino and Todd Boehly. However, their spirits lifted briefly when Disasi scored with a header from Cole Palmer’s cross with seven minutes left.

Jackson had a mixed first half, showing both promise and inconsistency. He missed a great chance to score but then scored a powerful header to give Chelsea the lead before halftime.

Brentford equalized when Roerslev scored after a blocked shot from Sergio Reguilon. They almost scored again soon after, but Vitaly Janelt’s shot hit the post.

Chelsea had a good chance to score when Gusto led a counter-attack, but Palmer missed from close range.

Brentford took the lead with an acrobatic goal from Wissa, but Disasi’s late goal saved a point for Chelsea.
