Chelsea net key cash boost after transfer deal pays dividends

Chelsea made £4 million when Armando Broja wasn’t included in Fulham’s team for their 3-0 victory against Tottenham.

Broja, who joined Fulham on loan from Chelsea in January, hasn’t had much playing time as expected. He’s only played for 48 minutes in four matches as a substitute. Rodrigo Muniz’s excellent performance has limited Broja’s chances to play.

Broja wasn’t even on the bench for the match against Spurs, and Fulham’s manager, Marco Silva, said it was because of a “technical decision.” This means it wasn’t because of injury or anything personal.

As part of Broja’s loan deal with Fulham, they have to pay Chelsea £4 million if he doesn’t start in at least 10 matches. With just nine games remaining in the season, this condition has been met.

This situation is becoming a disappointment for Broja. He was hoping to revive his career after a serious knee injury at Chelsea, especially to show his skills before the Euro 2024 with Albania.

Chelsea intended for this loan to increase Broja’s value for a potential transfer this summer. However, Muniz’s excellent form has kept Broja out of the team. Muniz scored twice in the game against Spurs, contributing to Fulham’s victory and complicating Broja’s situation further.
