Opta “Super Computer” predicts Chelsea’s fait post Burnley draw

On Saturday, Chelsea lost their lead not once, but twice, adding more pressure on Pochettino. While good PR can help a bit, when those 11 Chelsea players step onto the field, they can’t hide their performance.

Chelsea has let in 14 goals between the 40th and 55th minute of games, and another 16 goals from the 80th minute onward. That’s a total of 30 goals conceded in crucial moments this season, when games can be decided. Often, Chelsea ends up just trying to keep possession while the other team pushes hard.

According to the latest stats from Opta, Chelsea has a 44.3% chance of finishing in the top 8 of the Premier League, with a 20.3% chance of finishing 8th. These odds could’ve been better if Chelsea had held on against Burnley. Despite having games left to play, the outcome is still uncertain, especially with tough matches against teams like West Ham and Brighton.

Even though there’s a chance of landing in the top 8, it’s more likely Chelsea will finish lower. The result of Brighton’s game against Liverpool on Sunday could affect the odds even more.
