Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly understands why fans are upset, but he’s asking everyone to be patient with the plans at Stamford Bridge for the long haul.

Since Boehly bought Chelsea with Clearlake Capital two years ago, fans haven’t been happy. They’ve spent over £1 billion on players, but the team is struggling in the Premier League, sitting in the lower half of the table.

Now, supporters are talking about protesting in organized ways because they think the club has become a joke. The Chelsea Supporters Trust even warned Boehly and Behdad Eghbali that if things don’t get better, the club could suffer irreversible damage from all the negativity.

In an interview with Forbes, Boehly said he understands why people are frustrated. He sees both the good and bad in how passionate the fans are. But he believes they need to stick with the plan.

Boehly is confident that Chelsea’s young players will improve over time. He says they just need to trust the process and give these talented individuals enough time to come together as a strong team.
