Malo Gusto recently spoke up about preferring Cole Palmer over Erling Haaland for Chelsea. Palmer’s recent stellar performance, scoring four goals against Everton, including a hat-trick in just 29 minutes, has put him on par with Manchester City’s Haaland in the league’s top scorer list with 20 goals each. This isn’t the first time Palmer has shone; he also netted a hat-trick against Manchester United earlier in April.

Gusto expressed his admiration for Palmer, stating, “Cole, for sure.” He emphasized the team’s commitment to helping Palmer become the top scorer, highlighting his unique talent and how thrilled they are to have him on the team.

In their recent game against Everton, Chelsea notched their biggest win of the season, beating them 6-0 with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist alongside Palmer’s exploits. This victory has reinvigorated Chelsea’s hopes for European qualification, placing them just three points behind Newcastle and Manchester United, with an extra game in hand.

The win also sets them up nicely for their upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Haaland’s Manchester City. Gusto sees this as an opportunity for redemption following their loss to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final. He acknowledged the challenge but stressed the team’s determination to win, drawing confidence from their recent performances.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Gusto emphasized the need for continued improvement, focus, and confidence, buoyed by their recent triumph. Winning 6-0 at home has bolstered their spirits, and they aim to carry this momentum forward into the semi-final showdown.
