Arsenal: Why Kai Havertz was happy to celebrate scoring against Chelsea

Players usually don’t go all out celebrating against their old teams, but Kai Havertz didn’t hold back.

After scoring Arsenal’s third goal, the £65 million signing couldn’t contain his excitement. He put his hands by his ears and stuck out his tongue, a move he borrowed from Neymar.

Just a few years back, Havertz made history with Chelsea in the Champions League Final against Manchester City in 2021.

He still remembers those good times under Thomas Tuchel’s coaching. But things have changed at Chelsea since Todd Boehly and Clearlake took over.

Once a big deal in the Roman Abramovich era, Havertz found himself on the bench more often. People started questioning his skills and where he fits best on the field.

Seeing Havertz’s celebrations was a breath of fresh air. Football is all about emotions, and Havertz clearly feels right at home in north London. Fans were chanting happily, “60 million down the drain, Kai Havertz scores again!”

While he may seem serious in interviews, his teammates know he’s actually quite goofy and sarcastic. His joy at the Emirates last night was undeniable.
