Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, who is currently on international duty with Brazil for the Olympic qualifiers, has opened up about his admiration for three fellow players in his position.

In a candid conversation with AS Sport, Santos named Manchester United Casemiro, Manchester City’s Rodri, and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães as his idols in the game.

Santos, who joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in January 2023, said that Casemiro has always been his role model since he was a young player in Brazil. He praised the veteran’s defensive skills, leadership, and experience.

He also expressed his respect for Rodri and Guimarães, two of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He highlighted their technical ability, vision, and versatility as qualities that he admires and wants to emulate.

Santos, who is only 19 years old, has a bright future ahead of him at Chelsea. He has already shown glimpses of his potential in his brief loan spell at Nottingham Forest, where he made his Premier League debut.

He is now hoping to impress his new manager, Pochettino, and earn a regular spot in the Chelsea squad. He is also aiming to help Brazil qualify for the Olympics in Paris, where he could face his idols on the pitch.
