Another Strasbourg supporters group express discontent towards ‘BlueCo’

For the second week in a row, fans of Strasbourg, a team in Ligue 1, are worried about how BlueCo is running the club.

Just under a year ago, a group from the US took over Strasbourg after buying Chelsea in 2022. Strasbourg is barely staying above the relegation zone, and now another group of fans has had enough.

A group called Kop ciel & blanc released a statement on X day, starting with ‘BlueCoOut’, and said this:

“We’re speaking out like our fellow fans did last week. We’re not happy with BlueCo and the local shareholders.

Since June 22, 2023, Strasbourg has changed a lot. It’s gone to the dark side of modern football with something called timeshare.

At first, we trusted the shareholders because we believed in Marc Keller. We thought he’d look after Strasbourg’s interests. But things changed. Instead of sticking to our previous plan, the club is now focused on buying young players, making them good, and then selling them for a lot of money. Older players are sold before they lose their value. How can we have a consistent sports plan with this strategy?

It feels like the club is being run just to make money, not to succeed in sports. It’s like the owners are only interested in making Chelsea more valuable so they can make more money. But this plan isn’t working well for Chelsea. They didn’t do so great last season and are doing even worse this season. They had a €105 million loss last year. Looking at BlueCo’s results with Chelsea, we’re worried about what will happen to Strasbourg.

Mr. Keller promised us a ‘different club’, one that keeps our identity. But the club is different now, just not in the way we expected. The recruitment used to be smart and consistent, but now it seems chaotic. We’re worried that we’re living in a parallel universe or a bad football game.

We’re also concerned about Mr. Eghbali’s role in player signings. Does he know anything about football?

Mr. Keller, remember when Hilali was in charge and the club almost fell apart? Now we have BlueCo. We’ll fight against BlueCo just as hard as we fought against the London shareholders who almost ruined the club.

We know it’s hard to find investors who can help the club grow right now. But Strasbourg isn’t a toy or a fantasy game with unlimited money. It’s a serious club, and we won’t let anyone destroy it.

Once again, we’re against this timeshare thing, we’re against BlueCo, and we want them out.”

With Chelsea in 11th place and Strasbourg fighting relegation, tensions are high in two clubs with very different goals. Chelsea has loaned out Angelo and Andrey Santos, who are struggling to get enough playing time.
