Chelsea are in a race to find their next manager, competing with Manchester United and Brighton for top candidates.

Kieran McKenna, currently at Ipswich, is a popular choice among these Premier League rivals. Chelsea and United are also eyeing Brentford’s Thomas Frank, while Chelsea plans to interview Leicester’s Enzo Maresca for the spot left by Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea is also considering Ruben Amorim from Sporting Lisbon and Roberto De Zerbi, former Brighton manager. The club wants to challenge potential managers during interviews but is aware that other teams are also interested.

Brighton reached out to McKenna first since De Zerbi left before Pochettino. However, Chelsea has quickly contacted all their top choices as the competition heats up.

United is thinking about replacing Erik ten Hag and is already looking at possible replacements, even as they prepare for the FA Cup Final. McKenna is on their shortlist, celebrating Ipswich’s promotion to the Premier League next season.

United is also considering former Chelsea coaches Thomas Tuchel and Pochettino, along with Frank, another of Chelsea’s targets.

Chelsea’s new owners are keen on finding a rising star in coaching to lead the team to success. Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and Jose Feliciano have been impressed by Amorim since they hired Graham Potter in September 2022. They still hold Amorim in high regard, but getting him might be challenging.

Enzo Maresca, former Manchester City assistant coach, has led Leicester to the Championship title. Chelsea thinks he fits the profile of a progressive and ambitious coach, making him a strong candidate.
