Pochettino’s Pre-Match Thoughts Ahead of Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea will face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game, as they look to bounce back from their loss to Wolves. Pochettino shared his views on the match and the injury situation of his squad in a recorded interview, since there was no live press conference today.

The Chelsea manager revealed that he will be without nine injured players and two suspended ones for the clash with the Eagles. He also said that two young midfielders, Enzo Fernández and Lesley Ugochukwu, are not fit to play. He said, via Football London,

“No, Enzo no. But Mo, (Caicedo) hopefully yes. Today he was better.” He added, “I think Lesley felt his hamstring again.”

The injured players who missed the Wolves game are Sanchez, Cucurella, James, Chalobah, Chilwell, Chukwuemeka and Fofana. The suspended ones are Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling, who will be available for the Luton game on Saturday.

This means that Chelsea have 13 players who are either unavailable or not fully fit for the Crystal Palace game. The only positive news for the blues is that Caicedo seems to have recovered from his injury and could feature in the match.
