Chelsea Confident in Securing Tosin Adarabioyo: First Enzo Maresca Signing After Hijacking Newcastle Bid

Chelsea is on the verge of bringing in Tosin Adarabioyo without a transfer fee, marking a fresh start under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Adarabioyo, who plays defense for Fulham, turned down several offers to stay with his team. Instead, he chose to leave for free, which is why we haven’t seen him play in the last few games.

He was on the radar of Tottenham and Manchester United, and it seemed like he was going to join Newcastle. But Chelsea stepped in with a better offer and now it looks like they’ll get him to sign.

This will be Chelsea’s first new player since Maresca took over from Mauricio Pochettino. They’re also expecting to sign a promising Brazilian player named Estevao Willian, who they had an agreement with even before Maresca came into the picture.

At 26 years old, Adarabioyo will join Chelsea’s strong defense lineup, which includes Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill. His arrival is timely because Thiago Silva is heading back to his old club in Brazil, Fluminense, after spending four years with Chelsea.

Bringing in Adarabioyo, who started at Manchester City’s youth academy, might mean that Trevoh Chalobah will leave Chelsea. Chalobah just got back to playing well after a six-month break due to an injury. If Chelsea sells him, they’ll make a profit, which helps them follow the rules about making money and spending it wisely in sports (known as Profit & Sustainability Regulations, or PSR).
