Chelsea fans hit out at Sheffield United game kick-off change as ‘another kick in the teeth

The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust is really upset about the decision to change the time of their upcoming game against Sheffield United. They say it’s like getting kicked in the teeth for loyal fans who go to matches.

The game was supposed to start at 1:30 pm, but now it’s been moved to 5:30 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024. This change happened because Sheffield United and the police were worried about the game clashing with the Sheffield Half Marathon.

After talking to different groups involved, they decided to move the game. They made sure there would still be trains for Chelsea fans to get home afterward.

But the biggest fan group of Chelsea is really angry about this change. They’ve already had to play on Christmas Eve for the first time in a long while. They feel like this is another unfair move against loyal fans who go to matches regularly.

They’re telling everyone involved in scheduling these games to stop disrespecting match-going fans. They’re worried that if things keep going this way, stadiums will lose their energy and passion.

Sheffield United said sorry for the change and explained that they made the decision with Chelsea, the Premier League, Sheffield Council, and the police to make it easier for fans to get to and from the game safely. They apologized for any trouble this might cause.
