Chelsea handed huge Cole Palmer injury boost after England training return

Guess what? Cole Palmer has some great news for Chelsea and England fans! He hit the training ground on Monday after missing out on England’s recent match against Brazil due to a minor injury. But don’t worry, he’s gearing up for the next friendly against Belgium.

This is a big relief for Chelsea, who have a match against Burnley coming up this Saturday as the Premier League resumes after the international break.

And Palmer isn’t the only one making a comeback. Jude Bellingham also joined the training session after dealing with cramps from the Brazil game. Plus, Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson was back in action after sitting out the Brazil defeat with a knock.

But hold on tight, because Gareth Southgate is facing quite the challenge with all these injuries popping up. The England squad has seen some key players drop out recently, including Kyle Walker, Sam Johnstone, and Harry Maguire. And let’s not forget that Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka left the camp last week.

On top of that, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luke Shaw, Kieran Trippier, Reece James, and Jack Grealish are already sidelined due to injuries.

To fill in the gaps, Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford and Manchester City defender Rico Lewis have been called up from the Under-21s. And despite a big Premier League clash between Manchester City and Arsenal looming on Sunday, Southgate might have to rely on the likes of John Stones and Declan Rice once again.

It’s a bit of a balancing act for Southgate as he prepares for England’s last game before naming his Euro 2024 squad. But with all these challenges, it looks like we might see a heavily rotated team hit the pitch against Belgium.
