With the transfer window closing on February 1st, teams are feeling the pressure to finalize their deals in time.

Chelsea are looking for a striker, and The Telegraph’s Matt Law reports that they are keen on Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

However, Chelsea would face a drawback if they sign Duran, as he would not be able to play for them in any cup matches. He has already featured for Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

Moreover, any deal would probably happen after Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Aston Villa, and Duran would be cup-tied even if Chelsea advance to the next round.

Duran has played 23 times in all competitions, scoring only 4 goals, of which 2 were in the Europa Conference League.

As the deadline approaches, teams may start to panic.
