Chelsea might see Thiago Silva back in action for Sunday’s big match against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Thiago Silva, the Brazilian defender, couldn’t play in the last game against Manchester City because he hurt his groin in the game before that, against Crystal Palace.

Chelsea has quite a few players who won’t be able to play this weekend because of injuries. Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia, Marc Cucurella, Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Wesley Fofana are all out.

But the good news is that the coach, Mauricio Pochettino, says Thiago Silva might make it. He’ll check on the players’ fitness before the game and decide who can play.

The goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, is now fit after a knee injury, but he missed the last game because of personal reasons. Pochettino has made up his mind about who will be in goal but hasn’t told the players yet.

Djordje Petrovic, the Serbian goalkeeper, has done well filling in for Sanchez recently and might keep his place in the team for Sunday’s game.
