Chelsea injury update: Enzo Fernandez, Raheem Sterling and Levi Colwill latest news and return dates

Chelsea has been dealing with a lot of injuries this season, but things are looking up because some of our key players are getting better. Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi, Enzo Fernandez, and Levi Colwill are all getting ready to come back, just in time for our big FA Cup game against Man City this Saturday. And they’re joining a team that’s feeling pretty good after a really impressive 6-0 win against Everton on Monday.

That win was a big morale boost for us after a few disappointing games. We’ve had some tough moments, like when we lost points against teams fighting relegation. We were winning against Burnley and Sheffield United, but they managed to score late goals and we ended up with only one point from each match. But then we had that amazing 4-3 win against Manchester United, which was really exciting.

We were worried we might slip down the table, but now we’re actually in the running for a European spot. We’re just one point behind West Ham, and we have two games in hand over them. We’re also only three points behind Manchester United, and we have a game in hand over them too, plus our goal difference is better.

It’s great timing for our injured players to come back because our bench has been full of young, inexperienced players lately. Guys like Cesare Casadei, Deivid Washington, Alfie Gilchrist, Tyrique George, and Kiano Dyer have only played a total of 88 minutes in the Premier League this season, but they’ve been making up most of our substitutes lately. And some of our other players, like Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto, and Ben Chilwell, have been struggling to stay fit.

Having our first-choice players back will give us more options, especially with some important games coming up.

Chelsea Injury Update

Enzo Fernandez
Enzo Fernandez is currently being checked by the medical team. He missed the last game against Everton after playing the full 90 minutes against Sheffield United due to an inflammation in his adductor muscle. The coach, Pochettino, doesn’t think it’s serious, and Enzo might be back for the FA Cup semi-final against Man City on April 20.

Axel Disasi
Axel Disasi is also being assessed by the medical staff, although the reason is not clear. He played against Sheffield United but was not in the squad for the Everton game. Pochettino mentioned that Disasi’s issue is different from Fernandez’s and appears minor. He might return for the FA Cup semi-final on April 20.

Robert Sanchez
Robert Sanchez has been dealing with fitness issues this season and hasn’t played in the last four games due to illness. There’s no confirmed return date yet.

Noni Madueke
Noni Madueke had to leave the match against Everton early due to what seemed like a cramp. However, it’s likely not serious, and he should be available for the next game on April 20.

Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling has had some health setbacks recently, including back problems and illness. He hasn’t been in training due to vomiting. His return date is also targeted for April 20.

Romeo Lavia
Romeo Lavia sustained a thigh injury and is out for the rest of the season. No confirmed return date.

Levi Colwill
Levi Colwill has been nursing a toe injury since February and hasn’t played since March 2 due to increased pain. He’s back in light training but no return date has been set.

Reece James
Reece James had a hamstring injury at the start of the season and reaggravated it in October. He underwent surgery in December and his return date is uncertain.

Christopher Nkunku
Christopher Nkunku has had a series of injuries this season, including knee and hip issues. He’s been out with a hamstring injury since February, and his return date is unclear.

Lesley Ugochukwu
Lesley Ugochukwu injured his hamstring in December, returned briefly, but then reaggravated the injury. He’s been out since then with no updates on his condition.

Wesley Fofana
Wesley Fofana has been out since summer 2023 with a torn ACL. It’s unlikely he’ll return this season, with a possible return in the summer of 2024
