Chelsea secured a 2-0 win against Swiss side Servette, marking the first victory under new manager Enzo Maresca. Christopher Nkunku made the difference, winning and converting a penalty early in the second half. Later, Noni Madueke sealed the win with a goal 15 minutes from time, assisted by Enzo Fernandez.

Despite a lackluster performance from Chelsea, the result gives them a strong advantage heading into the second leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off in Switzerland. Maresca made significant changes to the lineup, with only Moises Caicedo and Nkunku retaining their places from the previous match against Manchester City.

Six summer signings made their full debuts, including Marc Guiu, who nearly scored early on. However, Servette posed their own threats, with Kutesa coming close after a one-two with Keigo Tsunemoto. Chelsea struggled to break down Servette’s defense, particularly on the wings, with Mudryk and Pedro Neto unable to create clear chances.

The breakthrough came just after halftime when Dewsbury-Hall played a direct pass to Nkunku, who was fouled by the Servette goalkeeper. Nkunku calmly slotted the penalty home to give Chelsea the lead. In the final minutes, Enzo Fernandez set up Madueke to secure the second goal, easing the pressure on Chelsea.

Although Servette had opportunities, including a shot that hit the bar, Chelsea held on for a crucial win.
