Chelsea might make a move to sign the Arsenal transfer target.

Despite being close to completing a record-breaking deal for Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea is planning an outrageous deadline-day move for Moises Caicedo, who is wanted by Arsenal.

Despite the fact that Todd Boehly has already spent more than £450 million on new signings and brought seven players to Stamford Bridge in January, the Blues are anticipated to be one of the busiest clubs on transfer deadline day.

Fernandez is reportedly close to a contract with Chelsea that would make him the most expensive acquisition in Premier League history.

Earlier in the transfer window, Benfica stated that Fernandez, 22, was not for sale; however, Chelsea now seem to have made a significant progress and are hopeful of bringing the Argentine to west London for about £115 million.

The Guardian reports that Boehly and his colleagues are working on a last-ditch deal for Caicedo in addition to the Fernandez move, so Chelsea’s astonishing buying spree may not end there.

Since Brighton turned down a £55 million offer from Chelsea earlier in the transfer season, the Gunners have been the front-runners to sign Caicedo. The Blues then stepped back and started searching elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.

Premier League leaders Arsenal have tabled two bids for Caicedo – the first worth £60m, the second £70m – but Brighton instantly rebuffed those offers too.

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, is eager to rejoin with his former player, Ecuador international Caicedo, despite Brighton’s declaration that they won’t sell the player.

However, any transfer for Caicedo would probably hinge on outgoings given that Jorginho, Conor Gallagher, and Hakim Ziyech are all expected to go before the transfer deadline.

Ziyech is edging closer to an unexpected transfer to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, while Chelsea has already accepted an offer of £45 million from Everton for Gallagher.closing in on a shock move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have already received a £45m offer from Everton for Gallagher.

In the meanwhile, if Arsenal is unable to sign Caicedo, they will focus on Chelsea’s Italian midfielder Jorginho, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

After effectively submitting a transfer request and requesting permission to join Arsenal or Chelsea, Caicedo was absent from Brighton’s FA Cup fourth-round victory against Liverpool at the weekend.

Chelsea is currently only in the top 10 of the Premier League despite the inflow of new players at Stamford Bridge. They are back in action on Friday night against Fulham, a club from west London.
