Chelsea’s Attackers Shine in 4-2 Win Over Gent
Chelsea kicked off their Europa Conference League campaign with an impressive 4-2 victory over Gent at Stamford Bridge. It was a solid start for the Blues, who secured all three points in their group-stage opener.
First Half: Chelsea Take Control
Chelsea got off to a strong start, with Renato Veiga and Pedro Neto scoring two quick goals. Veiga netted his first for the club, while Neto smashed in a powerful volley. This gave Chelsea a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Gent Fight Back, But Chelsea Respond
Gent came out fighting after the break, with Tsuyoshi Watanabe heading in to make it 2-1 early in the second half. However, Chelsea didn’t lose focus. Enzo Maresca’s side regrouped, and Christopher Nkunku restored the two-goal cushion. Shortly after, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added a fourth, leaving Gent with little chance to come back.
Late Consolation for Gent
In the dying moments of the match, Omri Gandelman scored a second goal for Gent, but by then, the game was already wrapped up for Chelsea.
