Enzo Fernandez won’t be able to play in Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester. He got a suspension for the upcoming match.
On Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino’s team will play against Leicester at Stamford Bridge. The winner of this match will get a chance to play at Wembley.
Fernandez got banned for this game because he got a yellow card during the last match against Leeds. He got frustrated and said something to the referee. During that match, he got booked for arguing after a Leeds free-kick. Although Fernandez fell during the free-kick, the referee didn’t stop the game, and Dan James missed his shot.
In the FA Cup, if a player gets two yellow cards, they can’t play in the next match. Fernandez got his second yellow card in the competition.
In the previous round, when Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0, Fernandez got another yellow card. He took off his shirt after scoring a goal, which is against the rules.
Now, with several key players already injured, losing Fernandez for the next game is frustrating for Pochettino.
